Always be ready to shoot

Darn it, we totally missed this shot. We were still setting up when they started goofing off. My husband snapped the camera that was sitting on the tripod (lopsided because I hadn't set it up yet) when he saw this happen. Unfortunately the guy is cut off. I WISH so bad I could see his facial expression. I bet it's priceless.

We struck out on this one.  Sad

ETA: I guess I should explain the weapons. The bride is a black belt in karate and does um, some other Japanese fighting things that I can't spell or remember. Most of the people in the shot are in her karate group.

So true Susie!
I think it takes things like this for theories to be put into practice.
ie learning the hard way.

Looks like a fun crowd to do photos with!

Sounds like a good excuse to find a small, good point & shoot you can keep in your pocket.  Looks like one of those cases where catching the moment / memory is more important than technical perfection and megapixels.

Yeah, that'd look professional. I am convinced my clients hire me cause I haul around a big black camera.
