I love Arches Nat'l Park.  Are you from Utah Robert?

The top image is great.  I'd like to see some of the bottom cropped off though.  There's an awful lot of black space there and the hoodoos don't need to be so close to the center line of the image.  Let the sun be near the center.  That's my thoughts anyway.

Oh, I loved Arches when I went. I was about 15 at the time. It was a trip from Texas up to Yellow Stone over about a two week span. Shot 20 something rolls of film, which I thought was a crazy amount at the time for "only" two weeks. Still have the slides around somewhere...

On the images, aside from the first one they all sort of look like snapshots. Well metered and okay, but don't come across as stellar. Maybe it's because there are so many millions of images of that part that it's tough to come up with something new and original.

Like Travis, I really like the top one and agree with his cropping suggestion. I'm picturing a print like 12x24 or 12x36" up above a fireplace.

Yes I am from Utah, my daughter moved to Monticello which is an hour away from Arches, and Mesa Verde and 15 min from Canyonlands.  Loved it there this summer.  Will try the crop and add it.

I certainly like it better!  What do you think?

I certainly like the crop better, too!

Your other images appear a bit dark to me. Have you tried adjusting the levels to bring out more detail in the rocks? If you want to keep the moody skies, you can always make 2 layers and erase back in the sky.

I love your series. There are some great shots there. Smiley

I do like the crop better and your renditions look good as always Marion.  I am weak in digital editing, something I need to change.  I know what the terms etc mean I just don't know how to accomplish them.
