Bad Man

I had my husband empty his weapons and model for me. In retrospect, I should've had him turn the shiny gun away from the light a bit, so that it isn't so bright. Lighting is both fill and main on one side so that I would get darker shadows, the fill lower so that it would fill in under the hat.

Playing with textures, I made a texture of just a plain gray and then messed with it for a bit.

when you ask someone to aim a gun at you they need to then drop the gun just a bit so you can see down the sights into their eye and they need to also open the other eye. Very hard to direct.

I like the first one best, but I think there is too much light, darker might have been better.

When someone shoots a gun, they are supposed to close that eye. Tongue

Nicely done, Marian   Clapping

Do a test, point your finger at a distant object with both eyes open, now, without moving your arm, close one eye, open and do the same with the other eye.
Doing this eye exercise you will have found your dominant eye.

No, you don't need to close both eyes.   Big Grin

I'm not fond of your playing, just an opinion.    Tongue

actually no, only if they insist on sighting with the non dominant eye. I am right handed but use my left eye to sight the camera. I never close my right eye.

besides it looks better.

My two cents - it's okay that the one eye is closed, if we can see the other open.

Anyway, good job.

Opening and closing eyes aside, I'm more interested in knowing how I did with the lighting. Wink

Here's another 2 from yesterday. I'm really proud of the catchlights in the second one. They are unaltered! I know they should be at 11 or 1 o'clock, but just getting catchlights to show in his little eyes made me dance.  Cheesy

This obviously was a "miss", but is this what you mean? Smiley

8h is much better because we can see his eye, but thats been discussed. I like the one before but would probably only use one light to make the shadows on the far (His left) side fade to black.

Marian, the one where you commented on being proud of the catchlights is good.  It's your best in the series I think.

How's the lighting on the one with just the hands and the gun?

I like the mood of the one of just the hands and the gun.
