For a second I thought this was going to be something from sponge bob.

Hahhahaha...he actually LOVES spongebob. I talked to his mom today and she said, "I need to bring in my little monster for some more photos," and I said, "well...now that you mention it," and sent her the link to this picture. She thought it was hilarious and is going to show it to him when he comes home. Haha.

I'm not normally much of a fan of texture overlays that are obvious.  I've like some of the subtler ones you've done though.  But, this one is out there enough that I like it a lot.  It's so strong of a change that it seems more artistic than photographic, if that makes sense.

And great title Cheesy Grin

Thanks, Ryan. Smiley It's the artistic element that keeps me coming back to these kinds of treatments. I know some people may not like it, but I'm not making my living off of photography, so why not take a chance and see if there's an audience for the really intense editing I'm doing. Right now, I've already booked 2 sessions because of the change to my website. Smiley

How do you do something like in that picture? You have any links or something that shows the technique? I'm pretty new to ps...

btw, try "multiply" instead of "overlay", sometimes you get cool results with that too, sometimes not, just try it.

Hey, it's the in thing, what ever works, go for it.

if you could get the lips to be textured more and tone it down just a bit it would almost look like paper machette (sp) effect.

I played a bit with it.. fun stuff...Is there any way to do something like this, use a layer as an erase layer of the texture one?

Basically that would allow me to change the erase layer, as opposed to erasing the texture, and not being able to get it back unless its in the undo buffer...

Another question, how can i make undo buffer bigger? cant find anything like that in preferences

I know you can, I just changed it.  I changed mine to like 100 or something.  I don't remember where you go to change it, but I just went to the help topics to find out how.

when you have the texture layer open click the mask tool and erase with it.

Black erases, White un-erases and all the shades of grey are available for opacity.

undo steps is in the preferences

Layer masks are one of those things that you won't know how you got by without.  They work really well for adjusting saturation on specific parts of images as well.  The best part is that you can undo anything because you're not changing the underlying image and can always erase the mask.
