Camera Straps

I decided to throw together a little Camera Strap video for the fun of it - THE REASONS WHY I HAVE ENJOYED MY TAMRAC STRAPS OVER THE YEARS:

(While I have a digital video camera, I wanted to see how my Macbook (plain jane white variety) would handle the task of capturing this video. Seems so much easier to me along with the fact that everything is straight forward from capture to editing to upload for public viewing. Handled the lower light level adequately for online purposes.)

Cameras shown are E-3 with 12-60 and E-510 with 50-200

Robert, I really want that curved strap you have! The one that came with my Minolta is nice and solid, but the edges do dig into me.

You made me REALLY nervous, putting your camera on the edge of the couch like that, haha. Had it been me, the darn thing would've plopped to the floor.

I can tell you're really used to handling your gear, as you do so with such practiced ease. Smiley Nice video! My PC would've had spasms processing a video. I'd love to see more videos from you.

Comments and Harsh Critiques gladly accepted. My photos are ok to edit.

Have you tried the Tamrac binocular straps?  They're made of the same material as the camera straps but are shorter to wrap just around your wrist.  The clips are the same size so I leave the camera ends on the camera and use either the neck strap or wrist strap depending on what I'm doing.

And I hope you don't mind Rob but I'm going to embed it here to make it a little easier to view.

I'll tell you - - - I have all the stuff for working with video and audio on my big PC workstation - - - but there is nothing like the simplicity of doing everything on my Macbook. The included softwares and built peripherals and ease of doing everything are almost worth the price of purchasing this little gem. I still use my PC heavily but have become someone who really appreciates his little white Macbook.

You can probably tell that we are artists by our home decorating. Several matted and framed Documentary prints from Costa Rican streets and of Old Montreal and Quebec City line our walls - as well my wife's artistic wall quilts and lap quilts, that she has spent countless hours designing and stitching together - and beautiful guitars mounted as art work. I was also pleased that the setting (we just moved here recently) makes a nice backdrop for my videos. I will have to decide what further topics would be of interest and work on them. It ain't as easy as it appears when thinking about doing it. Cheesy

That's funny.  I was about to make a comment that every article I've read on creating video for the web says that it's a bad idea to have much more than just a blank wall behind you.  I think for what you're doing it works though because it is an artsy background and fits the topic.

I've read the same - - - but maybe a video is more believable or comfortable when taken in a setting that reflects the person? at least that is the way I look at it! kind of like how I approach backgrounds for the subjects I photograph.

I use two of the leather straps, the wide one made me sweat.

Big fan of their straps and bags.

Rob, awesome.

I would like to know, where to find the Tamrac binocular strap?

Henry's, I believe carry straps, is that so, Rob?

I found them at a local store, but have also bought a couple from B&H.  They're Op-Tech brand.
