Cinderella

My sister is in fashion design school.  She specializes in children's clothing.  She uses my daughter as a model a lot.  You should see her wardrobe!!!  She has the most gorgeous clothes.

Yesterday we did a photoshoot for her latest fashion show.  It's got a fairytale theme and all the outfits will be for girls.  The models will be stepping out of a glass pumpkin coach onto the runway.  It will be spectacular.

Anyway, the first image is just for her portfolio, a close up of the dress.  The second one will be on the invitations and made into posters for the show.

The model is my daughter, so you can be harsh with the CC, as I thnk she is darling even when picking her nose!

beautiful work!!
I saw this done years ago with a beautiful bride the thing that shooter did that I think would have made your shots better. He put the shoe closer to the camera, put her up the stairs, showed the bare foot and the girl looking back. I know you can't re-do but thought if I plant the idea it might grow into something next time the oppertunity arises.

Thanks Bob, I actually shot backwards too, we liked this one the best.  The shoe was added later in Photoshop.  The thing that bugs me the most is that a three year old is not likely to wear heels.  I tried making the heel shorter and the shoe fatter so that it was more in proportion to a child's foot, I don't know if it matters.

She's three??? OMG you've a long, worry filled next 20 years..
(http://www.musicremedy.com/audio/index.cfm?FuseAction=ShowAudioPlayer&AudioId=17506&Quality=4) you need to let daddy listen to this song

In your "looking back" shot was she looking at the shoe?

The moment that cinderella realized she lost her shoe what was going through her mind.
(what happens to the shoe when I change back? what happens to the shoe if I'm not in it?)

Something most people don't think about. beautiful photos none the less

Here Susie, this is my favorite 'Cinderella' song at the moment (while we're sharing).

BTW, I love them both; but the second one really makes the statement IMO.

Bob, She was supposed to either be looking back at the shoe (which wasn't really there... yet) or the prince who was chasing her... I have some where she is looking more at the camera with her hand on her cheek with a surprised look, like "oh no I lost my shoe"  I might edit those too just to see what I can do with them.

And yeah, I think she'll be a knockout, lol.  My husband isn't a "get the shotgun" type of dad, we are pretty contemporary parents.  There is a country (gag) song that my husband does like, it's one we hear at weddings all the time.  I think it's called "I loved her first".

Travis, your video isn't working.

Mike, we shot these at the state capitol.  It's just been renovated, so we scouted out potential places for bridal shots.  My husband and I both went to our Senior Ball's in high school at the capitol rotunda, not together though, we went to different schools and he is older than me, we met in college.

Like I said, very nice work, excellent moment captured.

I'm a little confused with the new format, forgive me.   Big Grin

Had you not told us that I would never have guessed.  I figured you put the star light on the shoe in post but you did a good job on making the shoe look like it was there from the start.

The only semi-negative thing that caught my attention was that she's standing looking back at the shoe.  It seems like she needs to be a little more active and moving down the stairs while looking back.  Of course that's difficult to get a kid to do gracefully.

Either way though, it's a great shot and I added it to the featured images rotation on the home page.

No problem Mike.

Thanks Ryan
The shoe was easy, it's actually a white shoe, I dropped the opacity of the layer to make it look more glass like, and I did add the star sparkle thing.  It does bug me that it's turned sideways, who steps out of their shoe sideways?  Oh well.

I wish she had more motion too... but I can live with it.

Aww, the second one is absolutely stellar!

btw, I had to search to find your comment in the middle of the quote.
Don't worry, we are all struggling with the new layout.

That second photo just blows me away. The composition is perfect and the little sparkle on the shoe is just enough without going overboard. I really, really love this photo. Smiley
