Another perspective,

Do you think by cropping out the two sides and just having the stairs, would it be as great of an impact? I'm looking at a graphical point of view.

It would become a vertical

Mike, are you saying that you think a crop like that would be better or worse?  Or were you honestly just asking?  I couldn't tell.

My opinion is that I like the sides of the stairs, I think they add to the story.  It's not just stairs but a grand staircase, something worthy of a castle.  But that's just storytelling.  Graphically I am not sure, when I have an emotional attachment to an image or idea in an image I get a little blinded.

I mentioned in a graphical point of view, just wondering if the lines of stairs would work, the composition a vertical.

No, not even a thought about what's better or worse. It's about a different point of view, seeing something else. Just asking, you have the original, try it, see if it works, again, "Graphic" point of view.

I actually shot some of them vertical.  I like the grand-ness of the horizontal shot. Just my opinion though.

I have to admit I am pleased with these, and I am pleased with the location.  I can't wait to take a bride here, although there isn't a lot of variety, it will be perfect for a bride that wants something formal.

Hey Mike, when this image rotates through onto the front page it is cropped vertical, and since I didn't shoot straight-on the stairs look tilted.

I like the graphic point of view as well, yes, tilted straight would increase the composition and point of view.

I understand that the story has to be told, which I highly agree with. Both have have their positions of thought.
