We have a different sort of style, that attracts a different sort of client. So naturally, we try to do a different kind of album. (It's the albums that sell many of our clients)
We normally only slot 30 minutes for all the formal photos, so much of our albums are comprised of very candid shots. We try to mix it up, and use templates only sparingly. And even then, we try to manipulate the templates to make it more of our own vision, and one that is hopefully the clients vision as well.
We build the preview album with no input from the client. (They trust our combined Photojournalist backgrounds) Sometimes they change things, but most times they see that we are telling their wedding story for them, and they opt for the design as it is, which of course really helps in the whole design timeline.
Our clients also like a "fresh look", which incorperates texts, textures, and smooth clean large photo designs. Something a bit more on the contemporary side..... It isn't for some, but it works well with our clientelle.
