Wow Bob, this is your best work EVER. That first one is killer, looks like it was shot in a studio. The last two are also amazing. Although, it looks like you put a fake star on the sword. I do that all the time on rings, but I would tone it down a little with some blur and tilt it so it's not straight up and down. Those things will make it more realistic.

#3 & #6 stand out of the bunch for me.
I Like the way the light and the costume come together on #3.

thanks! I never thought of tilting the "star" good idea.

Yeah #6 is probably my favorite.
The colors on all of them rock.

I agree, these are the best belly dancer shots yet. Crisp and clean with better color than you've had before.

What did you do different this time?

They had a guy shooting video. He pitched a fit and got the lights turned up a bit. The extra couple of f-stops enabled me to use my VR lens that is much wider.

I'm going to be super critical here because you are asking about a contest. Remember I think they are great shots and I don't think I would have done near as well.

#1 doesn't have a dynamic crop. She is sorta centered in a horizontal picture. Kinda blah. I am also a little concerned that the lighting on her face is a touch hot, but maybe not, it's a small picture to see that kinda stuff.

#3 is messy with the girl behind her, although that does tell a story, I guess. It's not as striking as the others though.

#6 is the best I think. It's clean, it's dynamic. I wish you hadn't cut off her reflection because it's pretty cool looking. I might crop in a little tighter on her to give less weight to the reflection. I'd use this one.
