Cool.  Did you use a texture over the whole thing?  There is a lot of color on the metal.  It's neat looking.

Yep. Smiley It's actually a piece of burnt wood that I found on the seashore one day. I love to experiment with color.  Flash

In the upper right hand corner you can kind of make out a face in the burnt wood.  I believe Van Gogh (I have a bad memory when it comes to art history) had a painting like that with a face in a bush, it was cool like this one.

Haha...Yeah. I'm not sure if the whole flowery leather thing around his neck is consistent with the period, but I guess it would really protect his neck! Grin

Thanks. I had bad family news yesterday and also some trouble with a member of a forum I moderate, so I was drowning my sorrows in PhotoShop. Grin

This is a perfect example of the subtler look that I really like that I was talking about in the barnacle post.  When I first saw it I didn't realize it was textured.  Had Susie not asked I probably wouldn't have ever thought about it.  It's the technique not taking away from the image if that makes sense.
