I pretty much have to have music playing while I'm working on the computer, and I've found that either musicals or classical work the best for me. But I'm tired of listening to the same few CDs and am looking for suggestions. So what do y'all have playing while you're working on the computer?
Argh. I need ABSOLUTE silence and seclusion. When my husband comes into the room, I stop working. It makes him upset, but I can't stand to have anyone watch while I work. It's the artist in me. Even with my artwork, I hate people seeing the unfinished product.

Ryan, I doubt you will like my selections... I have iTunes on my computer and download a lot of music just to listen to while I edit and design albums. I even sing along (it's sad). I like: Lilly Allen Maroon 5 Finger Eleven Paramore All American Rejects Gwen Stefani I could go on.... I guess I would say I like Alternative & Punk, whatever that means, it's what iTunes classifies it as... I like classical stuff for background music around the house, or while I am preparing dinner. For the same purpose I like Yanni and Comcast has a Soundscapes music channel I listen to a lot. But I need something upbeat and interesting while I am on the computer.
Bond The Chemical Brothers Solas Nickelback (but not as much) Loreena McKennitt White Stripes Tory Amos
last week mostly UB40 and Peter Tosh
sortof explains why I'm so strange... [grin]
Mike er I meant Ryan you would come closer to liking Bond and Solas.

Susie, you're right. I only recognize one of those names
But your comment about Comcast reminded me that I can use the cable box hooked up to my computer to get the music stations and I can listen to XM radio online. Now I've just got to find good stations
If you guys want to try something fun try out www.pandora.com It's cool, you enter in music you like and it plays other music from the same genre. It sometimes slows down my computer if I have a ton of stuff running, but it's not bad with just Photoshop and a web browser window open.
I love Pandora! It's what I use when I want to play music for my patients, and my husband uses it to play music in our art gallery. Sometimes it starts to go into some really strange stuff and I have to whip it back to my original genre, LOL.

Ok, I'm showing my age here, but: Tull Zeplin CSNY Simon and Garfunkle Beatles and when I'm in a nutty mood, David Bowie. :-)
How could you list Tull and not Kansas?? what about Styx? (my age) For the children. Cindy's CSNY stands for Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

I love Simon and Garfunkle, really! I also love David Bowie, I even had a crush on him when I was young and he was in the Labrynth. His accent, oh my gosh. I am too young for his Ziggy Stardust days, luckily or I probably wouldn't have been so into him. I was born at the tail end of the 70's, I only made it by just over a year. But I do like most genre's of music. I am getting old though because when I turn on radio stations I used to listen to in High School I don't understand the new stuff. And I swore to myself I would always keep current with trends (music/clothing/and otherwise).
Today on my shoot, I had Chemical brothers playing. One of the models asked who's player it was when someone said it was mine she told me I was very fly. (found out later that is a good thing) [shrug]

I don't know Chemical Brothers, but I do like My Chemical Romance. Ironically they just barely did a remake of Under Pressure (speaking of David Bowie).
