This sort of thing tends to happen when you get a group of people together that all specialize in the same thing. Obviously we know photographers each think they know the best way to do a certain task. Occasionally there is a "best" way or "the way". But sometimes there's a whole lot of good ways to do something, and each of us thinks ours is the best. Web design forums are the same way. The arguments between validating / not validating, HTML / XHTML, or PHP / .net would make you want to bang your head against a desk. And if you really want to hear some heated arguments get a group of orthopedic surgeons together and talking about different surgical techniques. That can come to blows, but at least they can fix their own broken noses.
I guess my point is that anything suggested here is based on the experience of the poster and what they would do in a specific situation. That doesn't make it right or wrong. Sure, there's some members here who, based on their experience, I would take more seriously than others. But I think every point has at value.
I'll leave this rambling mess with this. When the shoot is done, cameras are up, and the print is hanging; the only person you'll ever have to apologize to is the client. If they're happy with the image, you should be too. But don't let that stop you from working to improve.
And for the record - validate if possible, but don't obsess; HTML 4.01 Strict; PHP; and patellar graft

p.s. Cindy, please don't let anything said or done here stop you from posting. I can't speak for everybody, but I really like seeing your work.
