Hello and a couple of questions

Hello,
My name is Elizabeth and I just joined in here. I took a photography class a while back and learned how to take/develop b&w photos, but I just recently realized how passionate I am for it, but I was wondering if someone could reccomend a good camera to start out with, I saw the sony alpha in National Geographic and was pretty impressed but... I don't know, the other question is, I need to know a good photography college, I want to be a photojurnalist for NG eventually or somthing simmular, so can anyone reccomend a good school? Thank you very much!
Elizabeth

Welcome Elizabeth!
I can't recommend a school, I went to a local college and then stopped when I decided it wasn't going to change how much I made.
The camera is going to be a personal choice.  We can all tell you what we use, but we use different cameras for different reasons.  I have heard great things about Sony lately.  I mainly shoot weddings and some other local wedding photographers here have started using Sony's, but of course there are always the traditional Canon and Nikon users.  I use Olympus and Nikon.

Elizabeth: its hard for anyone to recommend a school or camera since you have shared so little information about yourself?

What city do you live in?
when you say "a while back" does that mean last year and you're 20 or does it mean 25 years ago and you're 50. Makes a difference how you would approach PJ work.

New York Institute of Photography is one of the most well known schools but I don't know much else.

We'll help you narrow your choices, if we can. And thanks for joining our little group.
