Last night I was trying to crop an image for one of my websites so that it was 600px along the top edge. Every time I tried Photoshop gave me a scratch disk full error. I (embarrassingly) spent about an hour going over websites, defragmenting my scratch disk (which had about 70 gigs free), and anything else I could find to do to alleviate the problem. After banging my head against the desk I noticed that I had entered 600 into the width box instead of 600px and it defaulted to inches. So PS was trying to create a 300dpi file 600 inches wide. No wonder it ran out of memory.
Hahhahaha! I did the same thing a few months ago!!! I, also, told it inches instead of pixels. I got so mad that the computer kept locking up.

Doh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
