Fly ball

I also never bother with my white balance in camera and just fix it later in Photoshop.  That, at least works for me.

I am noticing a little noise in the second image.  It is hard to tell if it will effect the final print, I might try and clean that up a bit in Photoshop.  I have had a lot of luck with the noise reduction tool.  The technical information didn't show up.  I am interested in what ISO you were shooting at.

Great captures, none the less.  The third is my favourite.  It is a good clean shot at the right time and the dog is adorable, which doesn't hurt.  And Natalie, ignore the sarcasm, dirty humor and egos.  The group used to be better and lot more helpful, but lately it has degraded.  I am sorry.

Thanks Susie.

I do the same as you with respect to my white balance....

I had to shoot at 1600 in order to get high shutter speeds which is why you see the noise.  NAFA does not allow flash to be used when the dogs are racing.  The reason for this is the safety of the dogs.  The length of the course is 51 feet with 4 jumps/hurdles.  Most dogs run the 51 feet to the box, trigger the box, catch the ball and return back over the 51 feet and hurdles in 4 to 5 seconds.  A half sister to one of my dogs consistently does this in 3.8 seconds.  She is 45 lbs.  My dog that used to compete was a consistent 4.0 seconds at 58 lbs.  With better training techniques and drive building, some dogs are running consistently at 3.6 seconds.  The world record for all 4 dogs to run the course is 15.22 seconds.  It's a VERY FAST game!

Bob,

Here is what I get when I set the WB to Flash in CS3 Camera Raw...

Are you sure about the settings?  My "as shot" record shows a K temp of 3850...just 50 more than the flourescent setting in CS3 Camera Raw....

I'm super confused but one day I'll figure it out!  Cheesy

C'mon guys, look at the histogram in Camera Raw, adjust the Temp till you see an edge of Red to the right, then back up abit, it will warm the image, anyway, you got worked up over a simple true comment, ALL images first posted have a green color cast.
As Bob did his homework for you, M.H. lights are in arenas.

AND, I CAN'T post the workshop for you, BECAUSE, the sight won't allow it.

Please, I beg you, email the yahoo, I'll kindly send you the Jack Russell workshop.

Better yet, even AUTO in Camera Raw will get you close, just tweek it after. I did rid of noise from the Jack pic.

And no, I'm not being sarcastic, just Y'all all are not taking me seriously.

What's it not allowing you to do?

Do you just use the colour temperature or do you use the tint underneath it as well???  I'm just trying to figure things out.

Auto gives me a temp of 3800 with a tint of +30 while Fluorescent gives me a temp of 3800 with a tint of +21.  So, when I now flip between the two, I can see a very slight difference.  But not enough for me to call it a green cast.

I didn't even know what metal halide was before Bob posted that for me.  It's difficult to do homework when you don't even really quite know what the subject is...my brain in NOT overly technical.  The technical aspect of photography is really quite difficult for me.  I won't tell you how long it took me to figure out aperture settings!!  While I enjoy the challenge of digital, I do often find it extremely frustrating, especially when I'm trying to figure things out and I can't.

And, just how do you expect to be taken seriously with such a flippant response??   ROFL ROFL ROFL  I'm allowed to rib you on that one...but I really am just joshin' ya.  I never took offence.  I just didn't find the response overly helpful.

Set up an account with Photobucket and you'll be able to post away on this site  Smiley  Load the image to Photobucket, copy the IMG code underneath the thumbnail in the album and then paste it in your post.  Voila!  Posted images!!  Once I do figure something out, all is good!  Cheesy

Levels
Use the middle eye dropper.
Now, see the Jack's head, go up to the yellow flag, keep going up, and click that light part in the gray. The image will warm up, then tweek to your liking.

Flatten layer
Control J, go to Filters/noise/noise reduction, apply it, then click "E" on the keyboard, it's the eraser tool, at medium opacity, erase the noise reduction from the Jack.

Hope this helps
