This is one of those shots that's so perfect you wonder if it's fake (I know it's not, I am just saying that).

Hey, Mike, do you remember what font that is in the "Turkey Vulture Displaying" part?

Mike, it is a GREAT image.  I am curious what your photo data is though, and the EXIF doesn't say.  What lens, shutter, ISO, and aperture did you use?

It's amazing to me that you not only have enough depth of field to capture his wing tips sharp, but also that the shutter was fast enough.  Did you have to time the shot so it was right at the end of his 'flap' so the wings had that slight hesitation just before they change direction?   ...so curious.

I assumed he wasn't flapping, but just showing off his wingspan...  You know, to look impressive...?  I don't know though.  Birds make me nervous so I don't know much about their behaviour.

Displaying, wings opened wide, not flapping.   Big Grin

I always shoot at f/8.0
Uhmmm, well, what equipment? uhmm, well, way back when I was using Canon, hehe, and uhmm, a 70-200mm f/2.8 well, uhmm, I now shoot Nikon.    Big Grin

Don't ask why I shoot Nikon, a long story of two Canon 20Ds that were bad bodies, so, in short, that's why I'm with Nikon. Glad I made the switch, I'm dreaming of D3, maybe by the time I'm able to get one, it will be D4x    Big Grin

Marian, I'll look up the font.
