From the Beach

I had a shoot with a local model agency.

She was told to have fun and every time she heard the shutter, to pose differently, just a game I like to do with models. In the studio, it's every time the strobes go off, to pose differently.

I liked what she did here, almost a Marilyn Munroe. It's the little beach just a hop step and a jump from my new location, we are moving this Saturday.

Mike, the first is an "almost" Marilyn pose. To be honest, the first thing I thought when I saw it was that she had to go to the bathroom. Eek. Do you have other "in the water" poses you can share? I love the lighting on her face in the first one and would love to see more from that set!

The second one has a great mood to it. It makes me want to get to know her.

Yep, almost Marilyn, almost. I think it's a touch awkward, but then again couture fashion is sometimes. I agree with Marian about the bathroom thing, I thought that before reading what she said.
The problem with shooting in water is that you cut off their ankles and unless your model has abnormally long legs it doesn't flatter them, making their legs look stumpy, that could be why you see so many water shots with the model kicking.
OTHER than that they are great images, good job. I love everything else.

I'm glad I'm not the only one stuck with brown water at the beach. Next time you're out there and want to play around a bit get a tripod and do some long exposures with the model sitting in the water keeping very still. It makes a nice misty effect around them.
