God bless America!! My home, sweet home. Grin

Anyway, here's what I did today. The first few are from a place called Hurricane ridge, about 4 hours from my house. The last photo is from a sand spit that we found while wandering around the town of Port Angeles.

Ok, I'm really jealous that you live within driving distance of views like that.

Come visit! Grin

This place is amazing. Within a day's drive is just about any climate you can think of. From the Hoh rainforest, to the dry deserts of eastern Washington, glaciers galore, seashores, lakes, forests, big cities, farmland, prairies and more. It truly is an eden. Just down the road from us, we can see the beautiful Cascade mountains and a fjord.

Oh, and from one of the peaks, we could see Victoria, BC across the water:

Marian, I am jealous also.  I like the first one, but you can tell it's crooked (look at the trees).  You don't really have a well-defined horizon line, but the trees shouldn't be leaning.  Straighten it and it will strengthen it, I think.  The second one is over-saturated.  Make the colors match the first one.

The shoreline is my favorite of this series.

Thanks, Travis. I suspected I oversaturated the second one when I saved it for the web. A lot of times I save for web viewing and the image looks washed out. I overcompensated. Smiley

I like the shoreline, too. There were so many colors in the rocks that I was running all over the beach saying, "ooo... look at this one!"

Here's the first one with straight trees:

Gorgeous Marian, really beautiful images.
It makes me want to go photograph all the beautiful scenes in Utah, red rocks, the Great Salt Lake and majestic Rocky Mountains, but I don't have the time.  It's funny because when I look at scenes like this that are so lush and beautiful I take the dry old dessert for granted until I think about the fact that we have gorgeous stuff too.
Anyway, I am jealous of these great pics.  Thanks for sharing.

I hope you agree, this image is MUCH better now that it's straight.  LOVELY!

Thanks, Susie. I hope you get a chance to get outside and shoot non-people soon. It refreshes the soul. Smiley

That's why I like this forum. You guys help find things we miss. "Crooked trees? I don't see any crooked....oh, wait!" Grin I like the diagonal line in there now that I've corrected it. Smiley

I like the straightened one a lot better too. This made me have one of those deep reflection kind of moments. In sitting here eating a burger looking at the waves rolling in off the Gulf of Mexico looking at photos from the opposite end of the country. Gotta love technology and free wifi.
