I had originally thought this was going to be a turkey shoot but i had a lot of trouble with the Grand Canyon. I felt a bit cliché when we got there cruising around with my entry level DLSR among the bunches of photogs with thousands of dollars in gear. But, "the best camera is the one you already have" right? There was a lot of them to. To the point where they were standing in line to get a shot. I found lining up to get a photograph a bit outputting so we decided to take a hike to get away from the hustle and bustle and take photos of cool textures and wildlife and such. We met a very friendly squirrel which I named Steve

Later in the evening we went back to the rim to give it another shot. It was overcast making everything really flat. There was also a wildfire not far away so the canyon was really smoky. And then (after all the other photogs had left) the sun came out, clouds broke, planets aligned! The canyon was SOOOOO massive that the depth and texture thing was killing everything I shot. So I decided to put clouds more of the clouds in the frame and see if I could get some depth out of them, as well as focus on the foreground mid-ground background thing. These are my favorites from the weekend. I think I may have gone a it too liberal on the color but I wanted to do things a bit different than everyone else. Thoughts?
