I think I would go nuts having a new camera sitting around and not be able to use it. I think you need to document the family trip, right? Sounds like a perfect excuse to pull out the new toy, err, photographic tool.
It is pretty nutty! But I literally picked it up from the post office in the midst of packing and getting out of town. With a 3 and a 4 yr old ....uh and a husband (cough cough) it would just be frustrating. But Im back now and Im on my way to play now.
