Has anyone tried shooting IR with the Nikon D200 or D80?

The subject pretty much asks the question!  I have shot IR with my Fuji S2s in the past.  I am heading off to the beach this weekend (no, it won't be that nice!) and I usually shoot some IR while I am there.  Right now, I have loaned my S2s to my Dad and an uncle. 

On a separate note:  What do most of you do with your old DSLRs?  When I bought my second S2, I gave my Dad my S1 to shoot.  When I replaced the S2s, I gave one to my Dad and sold the S1.  The other S2, I ended up loaning to my uncle to photograph his kids, but this is getting expensive and now I probably won't be able to sell the S2s until they are worth nothing!  (Maybe I should make this a new topic!)

Thanks for the info . . . that's pretty much what I thought.

BTW:  The S2 required long exposures and I thought that the same was the case for the S3, due to the inclusion of an IR blocking filter in the stack over the sensor.  The S3UVIR, simply has this filter removed from the stack. 

I have been considering having a D1 converted to IR only by having the IR filter replaced by a Wratten 92 or 93 which would block most of the visible light.  But, at $350 for the body and $350 for the conversion I am not sure.

The pink, acutally I usually get purple, color is no big deal.  I just shoot in B&W!

I use a converted coolpix 990,
The good side is you see in the screen exactly what will be recorded.
