High Key and Hair

So, I am using white backgrounds a lot for my boudoir stuff, and I am not necessarily going for a high key look, but I have run into a problem.
Hair looks weird against white backgrounds, dark hair especially.  Obviously fly aways are a pain to retouch, but even the rest of the edges look weird.  I will post an example later, but I wondered what everyone else does in this situation.

Ok, this isn't high key, per se.  She is on a white bed with white drapes behind and I wanted some detail.
But anyway, this is actual pixel size, it's cropped from a full length shot. 
See how the edges look horrible?
