I love snow!

OK, so this image won't win any prizes, but there has been some talk about snow lately; so I thought I'd jump in and share.  I truly do love snow, once it's all shoveled, and as long as my wife and kids don't have to go anywhere.  North Ogden's measurements that were in the news reports were 22" on Wednesday night.  My parents live about 2 miles SW of me (still in N. Ogden) and they had around 18", where as my house is on the benches very near the mountain and we probably got closer to 28" at my house.  This photo was taken by my wife because I never got the time to photograph anything.  It took me from 6 p.m. until 2a.m. to shovel out my driveway, my neighbor's, and my parents (and my wife had been trying to keep up on mine throughout the day).

The grader in the image has a two-piece blade in the center, both are down.  This is the fourth time our road had been plowed on Wed.  Notice how much snow is stil being pushed up and over the bank and you can kind of tell how high the banks are across the street.  I know it's not a great photo, but maybe it gives some insight.

DRIVE CAREFUL!

Snow.  That's that cold white stuff, right?  We sometimes have our roads ice over, and it shuts down the entire state.

Travis,
I am so glad you are alive.  We got buckets of snow too and it hasn't stopped.  I had to drive to a bridal show today in another county and by the time I spent all day there I had to dig my car out to get home.
I hate snow, I truly do.  I live in the wrong state because I hate the extreme heat we get in the summer too!

Keep it!!!

I find it humorous when Americans say that Canada has a lot of snow. Or, WE live in Igloos.
Got any Polar Bears down yonder, Travis.?  Grin

We do have ours yet to come, though we did have a lot, it's all gone.  Grin

Mike, what part of Canada are you?  In Utah and especially in the benches up North where Travis is we get quite a bit more snow than many parts of Canada.  Although I would prefer that you got it all.

Southwestern Ontario, 2 hours East of Detroit.
Plus, I lived in Northern Ontario, on the North Shore of Lake Huron, East of Drummond Island Michigan, or 4 hours east of the Upper Peninsula Michigan.
Still, I find areas such as Buffalo NY has more snow then Northern Ontario, though, N. Ontario is much colder, dryer cold, which is nicer then the cold here down south which is damp/humid.

I'm serious, even NY thinks the same, it's really funny.  Grin

Judging by the map, we are probably as far North or about same latitude give or take some of Salt Lake City Utah, or the border of Utah and Idaho.

You are probably further North.  Our elevation is what kills us, we are very high.  Literally up in the mountains.  Our heat in the summer is dry.  I don't handle humidity very well because I am acclimated to the dessert.  When I go to Washington state the extreme difference in the elevation and the moisture in the air makes me so sleepy and gives me headaches.

Washington, probably the pollution does that to you.

I remember coming down south from the North, my eyes would water/itchy and I would find it hard to breathe.
Here in London, not as bad as Toronto. Humidity is a killer here in the summer.

I hear you, up in the mountains, big time snow. Must be really nice up there though, for me, that would be my "Niche" as I'm very much into Landscape/Nature/Wildlife.

Travis, I love night shots like this! Great job. Smiley Reminds me of when I lived in NY. Tongue

Probably a combination of mold and the perpetual darkness. I think I'm growing moss on my north side. Tongue

Polar Bears?!  Not yet, but I heard they are migrating this direction.  Grin

We had snow off and on since this photo until yesterday morning (although last week was certainly the worst of it).  The skies have been clear since, thank goodness.  The past several years we have actually had very little snow, relatively speaking.  This year is quite different however.
