Lighting a couch for digital replacement

I'm working on something where I need a clean picture of a couch against a white wall.  What I'm planning is to do a digital replacement where you can see how an image would look at 8x10, 11x14, 20x30, etc up on the wall.  The coding isn't a problem, it's the lighting.

I assume I should be going for as even of a lighting as possible from both the left and right side.  There's big windows on the right and front side of the couch, so maybe I should just wait for a sunny day and open all the blinds.

Thoughts / suggestions?

Ryan, What color are your walls?  White?

Yup, just plain white.

and you don't have studio lights?  Honestly I would just try and get the lightest picture possible and then fix it up in Photoshop.

Ryan I have a 4 head setup and I'm twenty minutes down the road from you. I like mexican food.

What is it EXACTLY you want to do. You have lights (provided you spring for dinner and at least one quality Mexican beer) you have white walls ( perfect)  so what do you want to do?

Will there be anyone "on" this couch??

If Ryan wants me "on" the couch I should probably be the one buying lunch. Possibly a new lens for him too.

I am working on a plugin for ProofBuddy where an image can be digitally above a couch on the wall so users can get an idea of size and see that an 8x10 isn't a wall sized image. So just an empty couch with a white wall. I've got 4 speedlights and stands so i'll probably use those.

move the couch several feet from the wall and put two speedlights  behind it (to light the wall) light the couch with the other two. you'll get some light falloff but it'll be at a place easy to paint over in post.

I didn't even think about moving the couch out away from the wall to help with shadows.  Great idea.

Based on the information and what you're trying to do, all you need is the sunny day and the blinds open.  You will have plenty of light to evenly light the couch, you won't have shadows, and the right exposure will render the wall white... because it is.  Therefore, I would suggest that maybe this is being a little over-thought.  You have the lighting, the couch, and the camera.  Maybe take one or two shots bracketed over the 'correct' exposure and see if that helps.  Really, if the wall is evenly lit enough from the windows, you could probably do a color selection in PS and remove it completely and replace it with a white color fill.  That would really make it easy I would think.
