Check out the new blog. http://www.jklebphoto.wordpress.com

Yep, that's a dang white dress.

Oh and yes, www.thepioneerwoman.com - really awesome free actions.  I found her blog through a cooking blog I read - www.smittenkitchen.com and now I follow it religiously, nothing like living vicariously through someone else's life, it's pathetic, but whatever, she has great recipes and free Photoshop actions, what's not to love.

Take a look at your exif, set your Exposure Compensation to Zero
What mode do you shoot?

Mike, Im pretty sure I was in P at this state.
Dare I admit, I havent played with the W/B too much. But I better school up quick.

Exposure compensation will really affect your image in P, it's the exposure not the white balance though.
I use it all the time in P mode to my advantage though.  If you are shooting a white dress it usually fools the camera into underexposing so I bump my exposure compensation up to brighten the exposure, a black tux will do the opposite, dial that exposure comp down.  If you are shooting both together - well, good luck Smiley  Seriously I shoot manual more than ever now.

I would leave the exposure compensation alone, exposure compensation can easily be done by using the shutter or aperture.
Knowing what to use in shade, full sun etc. as I mentioned before with Sunny rule as a start, you won't have to worry about White, black and gray, you'll have a balance.
If you change "Scenes" you have to adjust for that particular area, and so on.
