Sailboat docked at SunriseLibrary Thread

Here is one shot that I've taken that I like but I know I could have done better but I'm not sure how.  It's also one that I printed out 11x18 and donated to a charity auction at work where it sold.  I like the sunrise/sunset photos and wish this was a bit better.

I think its a nice image.
I hope you dont mind that I messed with it. I just did a fast run through.
Essentially I think it needs more detail in the boat. I dont think I have mastered that in this version but....

I see what you mean about more detail showing up.  I know they boat is there pretty much year round as I asked the owners if they would mind if I took a photo of it one morning.  The only problem with it is that it's in Key West.

Place camera on Tripod, expose for overall light, shadows and brightest, HDR and you'll have a nicely balanced image.

Anyhow, I like the mystery of this scene, nicely done

Hi Ray! You have a great photo there, with lots of potential. I've shown a few ways, below:

I like what you did with the levels there Marian.

I need to learn more about Photoshop.  I like the levels photo and oddly enough the black and white is my least favorite but still much better than the original.  Thanks for showing me the edits now I have something to compare to as I play.
