Happy mistake. I think I might try this on other things! While doing a semi-long exposure, I zoomed the lens. This is straight out of the camera, except for getting rid of a gazillion dust bunnies. I can see I didn't do a good job in a couple of areas, and I missed some. But, you get the point.
Called a zoom burst. Try it with a long exposure (like a second or so) and someone's face in the middle of it. Let it expose for a bit and then pull the zoom at the end. It will keep the face somewhat intact and pull the background out from it like a burst.
