http://www.wpbeginner.com/news/whats-coming-in-wordpress-3-0-features/Don't know how much of a cool feature this is for everybody else, but it looks like they're merging Wordpress with Wordpress MU. MU is the software that runs the blogs at Wordpress.com, so merging these two together will allow someone with several blogs to manage them together. That should make it easier to upgrade. Speaking from experience, once you get past 2 or 3 blogs keeping them updated gets to be a pain. I actually wound up writing a python script to do it for me because it was so tedious to update multiple sites.
There's also something called custom post types which I don't know that I really understand the point of. The explanation on the link above is that you can have one post type for portfolios, one for products, and one for normal listings. Seems like you can already pretty much do that so I'm curious what the difference is going to be.
