Anna's Hummingbird

I took this with my 300mm while walking a trail today.

Handheld or mounted on something? I'm guessing you had it on something because it's really sharp for a 300mm shot.

Love the magenta section on his head.

Not that you could have done anything about it from that far away, but I'm back and forth on the OOF brance in the center. It's one of those things you're not "supposed" to do because it's distracting. But it also, along with the other branches, gives the shot depth. While the bird is cool, just the bird on a blue background would be pretty boring.

Thanks, Ryan. It's handheld. Smiley Breasts make for good supports for arms. Grin

He kept hiding behind that front branch and I had to keep moving to create a hole through which to shoot. It took me about 60 shots to finally capture that catchlight in his tiny little eye.

Dang that eye is sharp!

I might try to take that branch out that Ryan mentioned.
