I intended the scrolly thing to be temporary.  I need to get my links working.  I wanted something that would grab their attention so they didn't try and click on anything without luck.  I would rather have a distracting element for now than have someone get frustrated.  I don't love it either though, lol, which makes me want to finish my website really fast.

Thanks though.

I just clicked on my website from my work computer, where everything isn't already loaded and noticed it took forever.  Is anyone else noticing that it is loading slowly?  I can compress the images a little more.

Susie:
I don't visit this thread as often as I should, but I clicked your new site in your sig from my laptop at work and it took about a second to load. (faster than mine, with its 20+ preloaded images)

the scrolling thing on the left hand side of the page is all my eye wants to look at as I'm viewing.

I'm glad that's going to be temporary, as it totally distracts from the gorgeous work you did on the rest of the site. :) Instead of coding scrolly things, get those links working girl! :)

I am WORKING on it, lol!  I am writing my information page right now....
The more I am forced to do this sort of stuff the more I realize how untalented I am!

Do you guys think it will be weird having a gallery with one girl...   I am not shooting another model for another month or so, mainly because I can't afford it, I like to pay them for their time and I have to pay for the MUA.
Because of the nature of this sort of shoot I can't just use images of normal clients, most won't let me.  I know I wouldn't if it was me!

Go to modelmayhem.com and search for models in your area. Even in my little rural area there are tons of models willing to trade for portfolio pics. :)

Actually myspace has been a great resource.  I only paid the model $50, but I thought that was fair for her time and especially because she can use the images in her portfolio.  I can't not pay, I just don't find it fair, especially for what this is, I am asking them to pose in their underwear!  It's the $100 MUA fee that's killing me (she does the hair too, so it's not a bad price), I can't wait to get real clients that will be paying for that cost!

WHOA I checked out Model Mayhem and my work is all over the place!  Ok Ok, so I only saw 4 of my images.  It made me realize I have to put my signature in ALL images I give to models for their portfolios.  Two models spelled my name wrong, grrr.  That means I am not searchable.
Regardless, I am still flattered, my images were their avatar pictures.  "I'm kind of a big deal" (that's from a movie, ha ha).

Mike, if I sign up for MM will you be my friend on it?  I am afraid of being friendless...  :D

The thing that bothers me are the pictures the models choose.  I am looking for one more model for my boudoir website and I am willing to pay, so it's serious, but when I do a search for my area and scroll through the list of girls half of the images are ones where you can't see either their face or their body or both.  I have to click on their profile to view the rest of the images.  Most of the time they will have an awesome image in there that shows them well and looks great but they don't use it as the main pic!!??  It's like they are trying to show the most edgy picture they have done first.

My opinion is that their first image should be a good clean shot that shows their look and then in their portfolio they can show how versatile they are....  I am too lazy to click on weird pictures to see if the girl is what I want.

Alright, I am so stupid!

I made some changes to my main page on my Definition Images site which is named "index" which goes into a folder called "DI" on my ftp site.  I saved it onto my ftp site not realizing I wasn't in the "DI" folder which meant I overwrote my index page for my Charles Barnard Photography site!!!!!!!!!!!
So I wouldn't have a girl clad in lingerie as my main wedding photography page I quickly saved my gallery page (from the Charles Barnard Photography site) as my index page.  I am hoping I have a copy of the code for my index page at home.  If not I guess I get a whole new front page, unless someone knows a trick to finding the old page in my temp files or something... which I doubt.

OK, it's official.  Definition Images is getting it's own seperate hosting sooner rather than later!

Here's the Google cached version.  You should be able to do a view source and copy & paste.
