Photo Booth??
« on: November 20, 2011, 10:17:19 PM »
My niece asked that I provide a photo booth for her wedding..

backup camera, set on manual focus, aperture priority f3.8 matrix meter, timer 10sec.
flash on cord, remote trigger.
used foam-core to make a "box" around the camera covering every button, knob or dial.
used a tube of paper to "extend" the timer light to the front of the box.

The sign said
pick a prop
push the red button (painted the trigger red)
get behind the line and make a happy face.

it was a "hit"

So, basically, at f/3.8, every woman's boobs were in focus...

the focus was set manual at ten feet. 3.8 allowed the flash not to work so hard and fill but not cast shadows.

What a great idea!  However, I agree with Marian that the DOF should have had a little more consideration.

Cool idea. Kinda of wish I had thought of this for my wedding.

Was it out in the open or enclosed like an actual photo booth? Thinking that some people might be a little less reserved if they didn't have anyone watching, although I don't know if that's a good thing or not

it was in a corner, mainly to prevent unnecessary traffic around the tripod.
You don't want it private, because once people start using it, everyone else sees it and thinks its fun. I left the display on the back uncovered but no buttons so if you wanted to see your photo you had 30 seconds to go look.
