Cool Rider - Before & After
« on: January 02, 2012, 10:28:53 AM »
I learned how to "airbrush" last night and this was the first photograph I used following the tutorial. My mother saw it and she pointed out it was probably very white. I think I have to agree with her. Well, here you go.

What were you going for? It looks a little bit too much like a cartoon for my taste.

When I think of airbrushing I don't think it should be all that noticeable. But that depends on the goal of the shot.

I saw a picture on dA and learned the airbrushing technique could be used to clear up skin. It was my first attempt following the tutorial but I kept practicing and I think I'm doing better with each attempt. =)

Pretty cool style. I really like the color you put in his eyes. They seem to make the less realistic style work well.
My eyes keep moving to the grass in the background because its so bright and right up against his dark hair. Maybe try and darken the grass a bit and see if it draws more attention to his face.
I dig it though. Good job.

Thank you! I learned how to burn and make things darker, so I will keep that in mind from now on to make sure nothing distracts in my photographs.

Sidney, I know how much you are enjoying learning photoshop, but I really think you need to continue to learn the basics of photography. It's very easy to fall into the trap of "well, I can edit that later". Most of the things you have tried to do lately could have been accomplished with different lighting, not with a computer. One day you're learning how to burn, the next how to airbrush. What are you learning with the camera? Show us. :)
