Last night's boudoir session

Pages [1] 2
This is the first one I have edited.  Amazingly I didn't have to do much, her skin was flawless, my hair and makeup artist is a dream to work with, and this girl could pose like no other.
I just did a little contrast, a few touchups on the eyes and a tiny bit of softening on the skin.

Where's the rest of her,  Big Grin

Nicely done, you certainly do not want to over do it with skin like that, good on you to notice when to stop.

Very pretty, though I would've liked to have seen some more highlights on that gorgeous hair of hers. Smiley The eyes are fierce!! I would tone down the reflection on her nail, though, as it's competing with her eyes.

Smiley ha ha
I cropped it like this in camera.  I will post more later.  She is wearing a tutu from my sister's punk fashion show.  I can't wait to show you guys the shots I got of her in the corset my sister made for the same show.  It fit her like it was made for her.

Thanks for the compliment on the skin.  I really try not to do the plastic thing, it's tempting to know you can get "perfect" but perfect doesn't look real.

I should note, she signed a model release.  I won't show shots from sessions where they don't sign it.

Marian, thanks for thought about the nail, I will fix that.
And yeah, I don't have a hairlight, I did shine my background light up at her a bit, but it wasn't turned up enough.  I agree she really needs that hairlight.

If you're going to be doing boudoir sessions, you really, really need a hairlight. Soft curls are an important part of the boudoir look. Smiley

I know, I promise I will buy one and figure out how to use it.  I was going to attempt to clamp my background light to the top pole of the background stand to shine down on her.  Then I thought better of it.  I am borrowing these lights and I want to treat them carefully.

How many lights do you have.
If three, use the third one behind the back drop, point it at the ceiling, if white, voila, instant hair light and outlining, looks really good.

I do have three and a low white ceiling.
Are you saying to just place the light behind her like I would a background light and then point at the ceiling without a modifier on it?  The stand is short, like two feet from the ground....  Would that work?

Do you have any room BEHIND the background, light almost to height of background and a slight angle pointing to ceiling.

Then use the two lights as 2:1 ratio which is what you seem to have.

Or, the third light like 8 feet back and 4 feet to what ever side you choose from model, high, feathered, will work as well.

I think I get the idea.  When I buy my own lights I will get a tall stand to use as an actual hair light.  Until then I will experiment.

I thought you had two tall stands and one small one...

Yeah, I do.
I had one tall one to the right as the main, one tall to the center as fill.  I had the short one to the side directed up at the back of her head, attempting to skim light across her hair, but I didn't turn it up enough.  I didn't didn't meter, it was my fault.
