So, the liquify tool is frustrating me today. It could be that my air conditioner in my house broke and I am hot and grumpy already, but I swear this stupid tool has issues.
First of all, why does this tool only go up to 600? Just a minor annoyance there. The big problem is how it handles when you are doing tiny little areas, with the brush set at 20 or so it doesn't do a very good job. It kinda wiggles all over the place. Elements, you know - that cheaper, not as good program - didn't do this. It had much better control when working with a small liquify brush. I don't want to jump between programs, so I will deal with it. And, I don't use liquify that often... but I just wanted to vent.
You have noticed that there are more adjustments than just size. Perhaps you need to adjust some of the other settings to make small selection sizes work. There are also plug-ins that can do tons of things along that front.
