Came across this a while ago. It's an online project to collect photographs that have otherwise been forgotten about.
From their site:
These photos were either lost, forgotten, or thrown away. The images now are nameless, without connection to the people they show, or the photographer who took them. Maybe someone died and a relative threw away their photographs; maybe someone thought they were trash.
As I'm typing this they have 634 lost photos online, but also take submissions so that number will probably keep growing.
And since they list the project as licensed under Creative Commons, I assume that covers the photos as well so I'll attach one to give y'all something to look at
