May 13'th 2008 Love Story Session

Slightly timid couple - didn't converse with each other easily - unnerved her when I was in close shooting - she didn't like pictures showing her teeth or when smiling - she was taller than him and getting a balance with his smaller frame was a challenge - she was shivering from the cold - they were static with their poses and body positioning . . .

. . . but I worked and worked them and managed to rattle off over 500 shots in the hour and a half I had with them. Resulting a beautiful series that will easily provide the 50 final images that I require for their Love Story Set. Here are a few:

Thats what makes a great photo. Its not the camera its not the subject its the "story" the creation of shot tells. Trying to "build" the story is much harder than it looks. If you hadn't told us how difficult this couple was, we would have never guessed.

I know they will be thrilled with them. Good job!!

Beautiful.  Love number 7.
I am glad to hear you have struggles and don't live in a perfect world, Robert.  But your images turned out stunning, of course.  Good lessons to learn.

Great job! My favorite is #3 and I love #5 too. I feel like I can see the love that they have for each other. I like #3 being in black and white.

#6 is my favorite, but I keep going back to look at #7. I love how the lines on his shirt, and the diagonals on her blouse mirror those of the wall and sidewalk. The artist in me is just screaming with delight.

Robert said in the first post she (the bride) didn't like her teeth showing.

Robert, you did a great job on what sounds like a hard gig.
Just beautiful.  These are all excellent, and I enjoyed seeing them.
Thanks for sharing.
