Mobile sites and search engines?

I don't know how related these are, or if it's just a coincidence. But I noticed something after putting a mobile plugin onto one of my WordPress sites.

Several months ago I put up a real short post on how to take a screen shot with an iPhone. Never got much traffic. But I went and looked at my stats this morning and that page is by far the biggest entry point from search engines. Only thing I could think of that made a difference is using the plugin to make a mobile version of my site.

I'm wondering if the combination of a mobile topic and a mobile layout helps with search engines liking your sites. Don't know, and nobody that really does know will every say. But it's something I want to watch.
