The image on page 18 is stunning.  I love the soft colors and the light.  Gorgeous expressions as well.  I bet they love it.
Everyone's expressions throughout the entire album are wonderful and genuine.  It is a real talent to be able to capture that.

I'm not so sure about page 10/11. I'd hate to be that poor woman whose face is being cut in half by the fold.

I do like the compositions of the others. Smiley

Marian,

The option is to squeeze all of those people onto a 10 inch wide page.  Notice that the first three rows of guests are not split, only the rows farther back.  Usually, the most important people move to the front of a group shot like this.

I understand. Smiley But my luck would be that the woman was a favorite aunt or something, ha ha.
Too bad her entire face isn't visible, then he could photoshop her over just a smidge, since she is the only one whose face is cut. Smiley

There are no faces or parts of faces missing. they show on one page or the other just like a double spread across a magazine.

No,no...I meant that her entire face isn't showing in the photo itself. Part of her chin/cheek is hidden behind the hair of the guy in front of her. Had her entire face/head been visible in the photo, you could've photoshopped her over a bit. Wink

Oh I see - sorry. I'm not concerned about that - that is her problem. We were after an overview of al the people in attendance and I make it abundantly clear while I am shooting that if they can see me, I (my camera) can see them. Many people don't want to be seen and so will tuck away. In general the only ones concerned are the bride and groom anyway as other than their album choices and a few prints that parents may order (which in this case didn't include that group shot) - - - no one else orders prints from me - - - and in most cases no one else will get a chance to see the album in the future or even worry about whether they are in it.

For this wedding, the orders have all been placed, printed and delivered - - - - The only print of this image was the couples choosing it for their album and so they obviously had no problems with the content.

I'll have to remember that trick! That way there's no hard feelings! Great idea. Smiley

That is one of the things these guys have taught me about shooting groups. (which I avoid whenever possible) I announce to the group if anyone can't see my camera they should just leave the group because they will be know forever as the jerk who tried to hide.

perhaps not the best approach. Did I mention how much I hate shooting groups?

Like Robert, I explain they are in charge of their own heads and they should know if I can see them (I don't say it that impolite, I promise).  I just worry about the people in front and make sure my DOF will get everyone in the back in focus and shoot.  The whole group up the steps of the LDS (Mormon) temple is a MUST shot here.  So I shoot a lot more of these sort of shots than I care to.  I can get them done super fast though.

Robert's page is funny only because when I first looked at it I looked up the split to see if someone was cut in half.  I didn't even bother looking at the other parts of the group to see who was visible.  That could just be my quirk as a photographer though.  If the bride is happy that's the most important thing.
