Odd issue with PhotoShop.

OK . . . I have been having an odd problem with PS for the last two days:

I open and process a jpeg image then go to File->Save As.  It looks like the "Save As" pop up displays for an instant and then falls behind the open image.  However, since it is now waiting for me and I can't respond, I have no choice but to close PS via the task manager.

This seems to be happening whenever I select "Save As" from the File pull down!

I am sure that it is something idiotic (or I wouldn't have the problem!)

Thanks for any sugestions,

oooh, that's strange.  Are you then losing the version of the image you worked on?  I can think of work around solutions like copying the image into a new folder, opening that one, working on it, and then just hitting save (so you don't lose the original), but no solutions...

Nevermind . . .

After playing with this for a while, I called Adobe support . . .

1.  I am running dual monitors.  I don't know if this is immportant to the issue or not.
2.  PS was running, full-screen, on my primary monitor.
3.  I recreated the issue by opening an image and going to "Save As".
4.  PS appeared to be hung.  When I closed it, using the task manager, the warning message said that PS was waiting for a response from the user.
5.  This told me that the "Save As" GUI was displayed somewhere . . . how to find out where.
6.  Support asked me to press ESC.  This freed PS by closing the "Save As" dialog.
7.  I took PS out of full screen mode and resized it to a small corner of my large display.
8.  Hit "Save As" again.  The dialog did appear this time.  It was streached all the way across both monitors and farther.  I have no idea how this happened.
9.  I resized the dialog box to something reasonable and press "Cancel".
10. I reset PS to full screen mode and selected "Save As" again.
11. Problem solved!

I know that you guys would have helped me come up with that eventually!

Do other dialog boxes (filters, levels, etc) do the same thing?

What happens if you make the PS window really small before Save As?

edit...
Well, never mind.  Glad you got it sorted.  I've had some squirelly stuff pop up with PS on dual monitors too.

Nice job Ryan!  A little late, but that was what I ended up doing to resolve the problem . . .

Thanks,

Hey!  I spent a lot of years working in technical support and the people who called me always had positive stories to tell . . . it's just that nobody wanted to hear them . . .

People in general like the bad news.  I have called tech support for various things and have never had a problem.  I have had to wait on hold for awhile sometimes, but nothing unbearable.

I work as a wedding coordinator for my day job and when people compliment myself or the other coordinators at the corporate office we MIGHT hear about it, but if there was anything negative that happened we will undoubtedly hear about it, no question.
