If anyone has a tripod with a center column that can be removed and replaced horizontally, you could do that I think. Then you could level the legs, hang the camera out over the tracks (or whatever), and start taking your images that way. This would give you a better support, and the ability to level everything which is a HUGE benefit when stitching images together.
