Marian, Thanks so much for posting these here.
First, they are both beautiful images that do a wonderful job of showing a technique with shutter speed to convey motion. Great examples! Personally, I prefer the second one over the first. It's one of those things that I feel like you need to go all out on. If you are going to use a long shutter speed, use a really long shutter speed (at least in this case). In the first image, there is motion, but it is slight enough that you almost get the feeling it's just blurry. In the second one, there is no question as to the intent of [you] the artist. As for shutter speed technique, I commend you on a job well done. There are certainly some bright spots in the exposure that you will need to try to keep under control somehow (possibly a good candidate for HDR). The image also appears slightly soft to me, but could be from what looks like digital noise. Is this image of your original exposure, or did you pull some detail out of the shadows from a slight under-exposure in post-processing? There is also a bluish cast from the open shade that might be easily compensated for with a warming filter layer in Photoshop.
Again, great use of a long shutter speed to show motion, and a gorgeous scenic photograph! Thanks for sharing with us.
