Photoshop or PhotoShop

No clue why this popped in to my head today. Just a bit of randomness for a post-holiday weekend Cheesy Grin

I know Photoshop isn't a verb, but what about capitalization? I find myself typing PhotoShop too often, even though I assume it's supposed to be Photoshop without a capital S.

I'm going to blame WordPress for my confusion because it's supposed to be written with the P capitalized. And for that matter, I do the same thing with ProofBuddy.

I do the same thing. I blame WildMaven and ProBoards. Smiley

I think that culturally photoshop is a verb if you're referring to digitally altering something. i.e. "Can you photoshop that pimple out?" In that case I don't capitalize it. I say this because people refer to it as "photoshopping" no matter which software or method you use.

When referencing the actual product I would capitalize it though. "I do most of my photoshopping in Lightroom, not Photoshop." would make sense to most people if they don't take too much time to think about it. 'lightrooming' or 'aperturing' just doesn't roll off the tongue as well.

According to Adobe, Photoshop is the correct spelling. [grin]
