Hey,
Inspired by Bob and Marian's photoshoping fun.
I decided to play.
This is a VERY crude first attempt. I know.
But it was fun and I felt like sharing.

unless there is something like a little white line all the way around her that's too small for us to see this image is done very well.. The main thing to look for in a composite photo is does it LOOK like a composite photo. This one, to me, does not.

I'm with mike, Good job!

For a "VERY crude first attempt" it looks great.  Had you just posted this shot without letting us know it was a composite, I wouldn't have thought it was.

I had to read everyone else's posts to figure out what had been done.  Looks great.

Thanks guys! I feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
I showed it to the girl in photo and she really likes it too. So, I'll have to clean it up some and have it printed for her.

What needs to be "Cleaned up"??

Are you familiar with the parable of the brass door? (We all have been there)

A reporter went to visit a metal smith who made amazing brass doors. When she asked the craftsman how long it took he replied "Don't know, never finished one" When the reporter looked amazed, the smith just said I work on a door until they takes it away.

MORAL: If everyone that sees it thinks your artwork is finished, it probably is.

Not very many can capture an African American very well, very well done on the skin.

Good greif you guys! Im blushing.
The biggest most obvious thing for me...if you must know, is, her knee. I need to go to the selection againw w/o hacking off her knee cap.
And, the back of her head too.
It just doesnt show in this small file.

I posted some of her portraits from when I took them I guess 2 yrs ago or so. I had a terrible time with the original background because I didnt know how to make my camera at the time blur it out. And it was too busy.

Bob, I did not know that parable. Thank you.
And Mike, I have definately missed with dark skin more than I have hit.
I think I was very fortunate to have a terribly overcast day (drizzle) in her case.
Now I feel very encouraged and Im going to go back and see what I can do with the some of the other photos from the same session too.

Thanks,

Corey

How did I miss this thread??? Tongue

Great job! Overcast days can provide wonderful lighting. I've become so used to overcast days here that, when the sun comes out, I get all confused, ha ha.

The problem with overcast days is that it is wonderful lighting, but I struggle getting light in their eyes.  The eyes in this picture look well lit, so good job.

Light in the eyes is about positioning and exposure, if you had a reflector, believe or not it does work.

Heres another one I slapped together last night while browsing through the textures website Susie posted.
Thanks Susie!
How fun is this!?!

Cool!  Was that wall on the site with the butterfly already on it?  That's awesome.
