Reflections

Hey all, I posted a different crop of this photo in the professional critique section. I didn't know that prevented everyone from commenting. Anyways I took the suggestions I received from Ryan Nutt (big thanks) and re-did the post processing. I'd love to hear what everyone thinks. Criticism welcome of course.

As a photograph, I'm not sure. It's too hard to figure out what I'm looking at. As graphic elements to take apart and use for textures and overlays it's great. The top section and the bottom reflections are great graphics, the stuff in the middle under the bridge not so much.

When I say graphic elements it's like the first shot in this posthttp://photoartsforum.com/empty-t2581.0.html

Good point. I think i may have been distracted trying to get the cool reflection effect instead of composing a good shot. Its actually 3 bridges. Which, now that I say that, makes it obvious why its not working. I wouldn't have realized that had you not pointed it out. Thanks. I think if I try the shot from the other side I could get a less distracting background.

The bottom half would be awesome for a texture on another image. Maybe next time Marian comes by she'll chime in (hint, hint) since she seems to be the guru on overlays and textures.

To heck with the bridges, exploit those reflections some more. Not saying not to shoot the other side. But, a series of those reflections and more like it would be a great theme for a portfolio.

I can see what you were going for and I think it just needs a different crop and some curves adjustments. And, yeah, that bottom part would make an awesome filter layer for something. Smiley
