There are photographers who only shoot, "Pretty Brides" NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT!!!!!!!

Do what you do, and don't worry about the losers who are trying to make a bad name of you, hey, take it as FREE Advertising.

I really liked your post.  I think it's your attitude that also sells your product.  I will be the first to admit that I photoshop (or "airbrush" as my brides sometimes mistakenly say).  Keep doing your thing.  I remember how you commented a long time ago about how you liquify waists because that was what the brides in your area liked, and it never bothered me again that they were unreal looking.
As for the "pretty brides" maybe I am biased, but I happen to think we get lucky a lot in that area too...

I honestly think all brides are pretty. :-)  You just can't go wrong when you put on that big gorgeous gown!

Mike, nope, nada.  I think I figured out the action that I was using that was taking it over the top.  It was one called "Prettizer" by the Boutwells.  It had a fairly heavy guasian blur in there.  I toned the action down some.
I will admit though, I sometimes go back in and paint another action called "DollFace" by Kevin Kubota.....and it does make them pretty dollfacey.  :-)
Anyhoo, the thing that made me think of the whole thing was a talk another photographer and I were having, and she was joking about the rumor of models, saying, "There you go with your models again".  And then she added, "I think maybe you get them because of the retouching".  That's what really made me think about it more.
But anyway, I promise I'm listening, and I'm trying to tone it down.  Really.  Just not all the way down. :-)

You're right.  There's just something about mixing getting to dress up in the white dress and the happiness that goes along with a wedding that makes every bride I've met shine.

And I think that it's a very good thing to think all brides are pretty.  I'm sure your thinking they look good spills over on to them during the photo shoot and helps them to feel better as well.

Thanks Cindy,

I knew there was something in there, I was going to mention the gaussian, I to use it, I reduce the opacity and erase back the eyes, lips, hair, clothes, jewelry, anyhow I use it only on the skin. Opacity is around 35%. I also use other methods, depends on the complexion of the skin.
Some models have flawless skin, so, I use the conditioning at a very low opacity.
Not everyone has flawless skin, they are a work in progress. LOL

Def, you are on to something, easy does it, you still want some skin realism, or "Texture" we humans are not "Barbie and Ken" dolls. :=)

Hi Cindy!

OK here's the truth!   Cindy- Sit down!  Are you sitting?  The bad news: (very little)  Watch your profiles- try not to show too much of the other eye,  OK there is a "boob drop" Huh? OK- I can live live with that!  One double jointed bride- so what?  THE REST (ARE YOU STILL SITTING?)  LISTEN UP- TOTAL ELEGANCE!  BEAUTIFUL SESSION!  probably one of the nicest I have ever seen on this forum and a few others!

A notice to all:  Watch this girl grow as a photographer- she is oozing with natural talent, has an eye, knows how to keep up with the trends and can do some classic work as well!  There might be some of us who know a little more technical  stuff than Cindy so all I can say to y'all is WATCH OUT!  While you are worrying about f/stops, shutter speeds and messing around on PS,  she's gonna blast out of here and become an internationally sought after top gun!  I can tell you, after almost half a century in the wedding business- people (especially brides) wanna look perfect in the wedding pictures- they want smooth skin and looking like top fashion models on the covers of high end bridal magazines.  The people who offer theses services will get the lion's share of the business!

Holy Crap Ed....I do feel like I need to sit down.  Wow.  I wish I had that much faith in myself!  You made my day, month, year because now I feel that I need to live up to your wonderful expectations for me.
Wow, just wow.
Thank you.  I feel like a stranger compared to the person you descibed, but thank you!

I agree with Ed wholeheartedly! Cindy is the reason I stayed at the last forum I was on. Knowing she was here made the transition so much easier. Smiley
