"I want to warn you, my photos will always be a bit more fantasy than reality."

Hi Cindy
I somehow missed this post and just noticed it, sorry.
I love it.  It is ethreal and beautiful and you are absolutely gorgeous.
I think because of the size of the image we are missing out on the texture, it looks as though you used Painter.  I don't care for many attempts people make with trying to paint photos, usually because the subject matter doesn't fit.  This does fit however.
My only little nitpicky things (and they are so minor) are that I think there is a bit too much white under the eye, which I think was caused in post production.  The other thing is that the background is slightly distracting.  I wish it were either more light and glowy to fit the rest of the image or darker... if that makes sense.
Great job!

Cindy,

I have been pretty quiet in here lately.  Just not in the right mood (I never realized until the last two years or so that I could get so moody!)  But, seeing this image compelled me to comment.

May I start with WOW! and  Clapping and  Drinks and  Thank You

Is this over stating my case?  I absolutely love this image.  This is your comp image.  This is a winner.

The more I look at it, the more I see.  It's almost like having two images separated by the angel wing.  The texture of the wall behind the peeling paper, which ranges from a Roman statue to Peanuts like character (is that really Lucy?) to the shadow like horse.  Then I get to your angelic self.  I am drawn to you right eye . . . yes, it may be too white, but I think that it fits the image.  I might like to see the blue of you eye intensified to match the white.

There is a dark area in the lower right corner.  Some might suggest that you remove it.  I am going to suggest that you burn the very edge of the entire image just like that.  This will provide a boundary for the image that a mat or frame cannot.

Notice that I say "may" and "might" in my comments.  This is truely your image and I think that it should be your vision as well.

Keep posting images like this around here and you won't have the time to post images here anymore.  You will be far too busy shooting them!

After Ed's comments I wanted to add that I don't think the eyes are too white, there just seems to be too much white under the blue part.
The background is interesting, I totally didn't notice the figures except the Roman one.  I like the background, it's the shadow that is distracting me, but not enough to take away from the fact it is a gorgeous image.  And, I may be the only one that thinks like I do anyway, which means you should take it with a total grain of salt.

And yes, if you show this image you will be shooting more like it.  In fact, can I fly down so you can turn me into a totally hot angel?   Smiley

WOW Cindy!  I love the feeling of this image.  Clapping  It is soft and sensuous but not overtly sexual in nature.  An excellent idea for an image.

But I think the background is distracting. We have a low, middle and high key background all in one image!  The image has high key clothing and props and a general overall high key lightness to it but there are too many middle and low key elements for the image to be a high key image.  I don't care for the posing of your left hand or the fact that there is so much overexposed skin on your arms and hand.  Lastly, I'm not sure why you are placed so off center in the image. Off centered images can be powerful, but I believe there should be a reason for them to be off center.

Keep 'em coming!

OK  Move over all you old time Hollywood photographers- Cindy is coming!  The same goes for all those iconic stars and starlets of that era- you know- LOLITA- HARLO- MARYLIN!

The effect is top-drawer- but I would like to see more face- with that look you have nothing to hide-  Yeah- I know!- Photographers like to be mysterious birds and appear as if the are luring around in the shadows- but forget about that!

Since the subject is readily available- I wanna see a re-shoot with more Cindy and less negative space- tighten up- there is too much at the bottom of you composition.  A very creative and lovely image indeed!

Oh!  I use MY self portrait in the back window of my studio to scare away the buglers!

Ed, Ok, I know that bs explainations are a no no but.....

I shot this in an area that was 2x6 foot.  The wings were three foot.  So each time I went back, I had to take off the wings, and then quick put them on again after I hit the timer.  And those wings scratched the living beJesus out of my arms!

I'll try in again though.  LOL

I'm gonna need some calamine lotion, and some crack though. Hehe.  My hair is also really long and gets all tangled in the stupid wing thingies!!!!

Cindy, I am sure you have heard the stories about how painful it was to create the paintings in the Sisitine Chapels.  Art that is acheived easily will never be appreciated by yourself as much as when something takes time and careful execution.  I like my lucky shots, I LOVE my painful shots.
