Staying motivated

Do you ever have one of those days that is just a bad day. I mean, nothing is really bad happening, but your chemistry from inside you is off and therby everything, everything is off.
But you have a shoot, and you dread it, because you know youre not right, but you have to do it.
And you just pray you can pull off one great shot, just even one.
But sure enough you get home to see what youve come up with and just as you feared you have completey crapped the bed on this one.
But you still have to deliver a product. One, you know youre not proud of.
How do you stay motivated to process photos you know are subpar?

its hard. I have a "default" light setup, and several "default" poses that work with most anyone.
if I'm just not "feeling it" I try to find one "thing" and focus on making it perfect.

her left eye, his chin, whatever.

that forces me to concentrate.

I like Bob's thinking. Have something that you know works really well to fall back on. When you're feeling off isn't the best time to experiment with something new.

Thanks. That is a good idea.
I get to partner with another photog on a pretty big project at the end of the month. Im hoping for some renewal to come out of the experience.
But I do need to narrow in on something and focus. One being playing less with my iphone camera and more with my actual real camera. I have had it a year, I need to move on.

Thanks guys.
