The BIG one! Wedding photography!!Library Thread

Memory is cheap, very cheap and miniscule compared to the distress of losing images or having to try and delete something to get the job finished...
On that note, don't buy huge cards, I have several small ones and change them when I need to, it's that thing about not having all your eggs in one basket.

Yeah, I've never figured out when people have time to dump cards to a laptop during a wedding.  For that matter, a laptop is just one more thing that could potentially walk away while you're shooting.  Buy a few gigs of memory.  Call it insurance against your laptop getting stolen.

I used the laptop once in a pinch. It was a gig for a friend so I had my wife babysit it for me. You notice I said once. Susie's right, memory is too cheap and fast to change out to not just get more of it.

I concur with the thought that memory is cheap and the hassle of taking (and protecting) the laptop (assuming you are shooting the wedding alone) is not really worth the risk. I would recommend that you consider buying some more memory cards.

Here are some sample prices from Calumet, but they may be even cheaper at Best Buy.

Thanks. The couple paid me in memory! That was really nice.
I have a new and huge appreciation for you wedding photographers! You are worth every dime! Thats hard hard work and you so gotta be on your toes!
This wedding was way too short. It was in a slam bam thank you mam location. They had the facility from 11a to 4pm. RIDICULOUS! I had no time for portraits or they would have not seen their reception. Sucko!
I learned a ton and made some huge mistakes. I'm still in California but when I get some processed after I get home, I'll post them.
My sincere props to you all wedding folks, for real! Clapping

I am excited to see how they turned out.
And yeah, weddings aren't a picnic, there is a difference when you have a second shooter like I always do

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.
