The dreaded "CHA" error on my D90

Yesterday, while setting up for my corn syrup shoot, I took 2 test shots after formatting my 16GB card and then I got the CHA error. I tried removing the battery and putting it back in, removing the card and putting it back in (multiple times), and removing the lens and putting it back on. Nothing worked. Then I put in a different card and everything was fine. Wow, I'd hate to have this happen in the middle of a wedding! I never had this happen with my Minolta.

I carry 2, also, but my second is my Minolta, which is only 6 megapixels.

I can't find anything on an actual nikon site that explains the error. The CHA appears in the area where it usually tells me how many shots I have left on a card.

format the card with your PC. Put it in the camera and turn it on, hit menu and format the card first thing. That should fix it.

I've never had it happen but I've seen it several times, always seems to be the result of an incorrectly closed file.
