What's some of the unusual events you've taken a photo of?

Example: Here's an Apache flying low through downtown Houston.

I am boring, most things I shoot are weddings, so I will look for something unusual at a wedding... wish me luck.

Traffic enforcment. HPD is serious about red light violators. If you look real close there's another one at the next intersection.

Or it could have been a flyover for Veterans Day.

Wish I had known about them doing that, I probably would have ventured downtown to see it.

I didn't know they were doing it either until I saw the first one nose around the corner of a building. Those pilots must clank when they walk. Four of them went over at less than 100', no room on either side of the rotors, and hauling butt doing it. Any little mistake and they would have wiped out themselves and everyone below them.
We were near the beginning of their run down the street and barely heard anything until they turned the corner a block from us. I would not want to be on the recieveing end of one of those things.

Those gunships are scary. The pilots are amazing. There was a hurricane a few years ago and the apache squadron from North carolina came to spend the weekend in Chattanooga. Karen (my beautiful, thin, and tan wife) and I went to watch them leave.

karen was wearing a tiny sundress and had climbed up on the hood of my jeep to get some sun while I was taking photos of the choppers.

Then I noticed all the 50cal machine guns (that happen to track whatever the pilot is watching) were trained on Karen. It was really cool in a creepy sort of way. (I didn't tell her)

It's worse, they're 30mm's.

Guy I used to work with was a crew chief in the SR-71 program in the early 80's. The blackbird pilots used to take shots of girls on the beach and in backyards sunbathing on their way back from missions flying at the edge of space. It was their idea of a good time.

Not at all photoshopped, just cropped. I titled it "Guardian" because I like to think of it as a kind face. I didn't even see the face when I was shooting. I was taking pictures of the clouds around the moon and, only when I brought it up on my computer, did I see the face. I immediately called my husband into the room and his first word was "whoa!!!!!!!!!!!!"

This is my best selling print to date. It is even hanging in a local church! Smiley

It's not so much an unusual thing to photograph, but I was taking bonfire pictures at my SIL's house a year or so ago and this is what appeared in one of them.  Like a little fairy dancing in the flames Smiley.  (ok, I'm a dork, lol).

I'm more freaked out by the hand in the middle of the picture coming out of the flames!!!

All I can see is the hand.
I mean, I see the thing you were refering to as the fairy, but I cant take my eyes off what looks like I hand.

Wacky.

Ok, I never even noticed the hand.  That is creepy.  I always just focus on the fairy.  But now you mention it, my eye is drawn to the hand.  I love fire.  Big Grin  It's so fun.
